Yoga Thon

Come and take part in YogaThon and help raise money for Charity

We have some of the world's leading Yoga teachers coming to help and provide you and 300 others with a Yoga experience like no other. 12 teachers will each lead 9 Sun Salutations each. These include some of the best teachers in the world who are participating at the 2010 Yoga Show.

The YogaThon challenge is to complete 108 sun salutations and raise a minimum of £108 in sponsorship. And, because we use JustGiving.com every single penny goes to charity. Our teachers, sponsors and supporters give their time, energy and services completely FREE.

YogaThon is open to anyone visiting the Yoga Show on Saturday 30th October, 2010. Register NOW and take the opportunity to practice with some of the world's leading teachers.

YogaThon is supporting the following charities

special-yoga-centre

Special Yoga Centre

The Special Yoga Centre in North London provides yoga therapy for children with special needs regardless of ability to pay. Each week we help over 350 children with conditions such as Downs Syndrome, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, ADD/ADHD and other physical and developmental difficulties. We also offer a wide variety of regular yoga classes, workshops and teacher training, which together with your donations, fund our yoga therapy programme for special needs children.

prison-phoenix-trust

Prison Phoenix Trust

The Prison Phoenix Trust encourages prisoners in the development of their spiritual welfare, through the practices of meditation and yoga, working with silence and the breath. We offer personal support to prisoners around the UK and Ireland through teaching, workshops, correspondence, books and newsletters - and to prison staff too. We work with people of any faith, or of none, and honour all religions.

rainforest-foundation

Rainforest Foundation

Every year an area of rainforest the size of England and Wales is cut down. This leaves local people homeless, drives animals and plants to extinction and releases more CO2 emissions, which cause climate change, than all of the world’s planes, trains and cars. Tropical deforestation is an issue that affects us all.

The Rainforest Foundation tackles deforestation locally and globally. Locally it helps forest communities to gain land rights, challenge logging companies and manage forests for their own wellbeing and protection of their environment. Globally it campaigns to influence national and international laws to protect rainforests and their inhabitants.

Since it was founded in 1989 the Rainforest Foundation has helped indigenous and local communities to protect more than 100,000 square kilometers of rainforest

born-free-foundation

Born Free Foundation

From small beginnings, the Born Free Foundation has grown into a global force for wildlife. But a personal passion for wild animals and desire for positive change remain at our heart. Described by The Times as ‘Big enough to make a difference, but small enough to care,’ Born Free is not a big anonymous organisation, but a family of like-minded people who share the same goals. Our work to prevent individual animal suffering, protect threatened species and keep wildlife in the wild sets us apart from the rest.
